Analytics Data Collection

This site uses GoatCounter as its analytics tool to help understand how visitors use the website and what features are most helpful to the community.

GoatCounter is specifically designed to be privacy-friendly. It does not track individuals, does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII), and does not use cookies.

What Analytics Data is Collected?

This site only collects anonymous, aggregated data. According to the configuration, the following anonymous data points are tracked:

• Individual Pageviews: Stored to track overall site traffic patterns.
• Sessions: To ensure accurate counts (like making sure a simple page refresh isn't counted as a brand new visit), this site temporarily notes a visit for up to 8 hours before securely discarding it.
• Device Size: This site tracks screen dimensions (e.g., mobile vs desktop) to ensure the website renders correctly on the devices people actually use.
• Country: This site logs the country name (e.g., UK, Spain, US) derived from an anonymized IP address to understand where the community is located.

What is NOT Collected?

• This site does not collect Referrer data (where you clicked a link from).
• This site does not collect User-Agent data (specific web browser names and operating system names).
• This site does not track Regional data within your country.
• This site does not track your specific browser language settings.

Survey Data & Knowledge Base

Community survey data collection is managed via Google Forms. The specific terms and agreements are outlined within the surveys themselves.

The goal of these surveys is to produce an open knowledge base. Please only share information that you are happy to be made public, and that you are happy for Irene Roura Garcia and the FND Care Guide to use as quotes in communications materials of all sorts.

Because this site does not collect personal data or utilize tracking cookies, it does not require a cookie consent banner under GDPR regulations. Your privacy is respected by default.
